| Four vie for top 89 honor When asked about the general school attitude this year, Principal Mike Bowers commented that it was upbeat, and student attendance was im- proved. The key seemed to be that the staff and students were communicating. Bowers announced proudly that the litter problem on campus had decreased considerably since the rule of no food in hallways went into effect. Teachers did a super job in the class- room. This was largely due to attending the in-class meetings. The Senior Class led the school with tons of ideas floating around and lots of money to make those dreams come true. It was important that Seniors set a good example because the underclassmen were looking to them for a focus on what activities to do in the future. Academically, the Senior Class was a powerhouse, with several students vying for valedictorian. Bowers hoped that students would feel comfortable being part of Arroyo. He also wanted students to take issues head-on instead of being passive. "I think that now they are figuring out that life has a meaning and that they're trying to find a direction in life" stated Senior Sofia Chughtai. -Shirlee Lowe |
