Arroyo High School prides itself
on the diverse number of activities
and programs available to
its students. The school is dividing
up into Small Learning Communities
(SLCs) to better support
student learning. These
SLCs are thematic in their curriculum
and provide several activities
and support services to
improve student success. The
school maintains Varsity and
lower level athletic teams in
various sports for both boys and
girls, and a cheerleading squad.
The activities program, led by
the Associated Student Body
leadership group, provides a
number of dances, rallies, and
noontime events for students,
as well as the annual Homecoming
and Spirit Week events. The
school supports a wide variety
of clubs and service organizations
who are involved in many
community service projects.
AHS counselors provide information
for students and parents
on college financial aid and enrollment
procedures, supervise
daily tutoring sessions, and visit
classes to support student
learning. The College and Career
Center has scholarship information,
career exploration
software, and provides time for
students to meet with representatives
of post-secondary educational
programs from the immediate
Bay Area. Assistant
principals handle student discipline
and supervise all events.
