The Everett household seldom lacked for problems, but the one that never seemed to get any better was the problem of wheels. With Nanny, Professor Everett, Hal, Prudence, Butch, and—well, yes—Waldo, all going in different directions at the same time, there just weren't enough wheels to go around. The professor came up with a solution that would have meant a lot of extra work for him. But Nanny came up with a better one. It meant a lot of work for Hal, Butch, Prudence, and—well, yes—Waldo. But the result was a triumph of engineering, logistics, gynecology, driving skill, persistence, and togetherness. Everybody got in on the act, including the professor, whose contribution was an enormous amount of bewilderment.
